Desgin the Darkside Patch.... submit your designes here

We are going to have a darkside patch and we are going to accept designs on this post .
the closing date for your designs is on midnight on the 20th of June 2009.
Voting will end on midnight June 30th .
if this is alright with everyone
You can post your design here or PM it to me and I'll post it here, ether way it will end up here.

The winning patch will not get any money for it but just that you know you helped to make our website more fun.

After we get all the submissions in and posted and the voting is over , I'll order the patches, so when they come in I'll post again , maybe we can get a sticky for the patches ,, I'll get the first batch and see if the cost of shipping and each patch or doing a minimum of two patches or just whet kind of cost per patch is going to be ,,,, ALL PROCEEDS GO TO THE DARKSIDE WEBSITE. the cost of keeping this site going is where the profit is to be spent. If everyone agrees to this then I'll get the patches and mail them out to all of you that want them and PAY.

How about adding the Latin across the top of patch #6??? It looks kinda like a name should go there or something.

I think #6 would be easier read and show up better! I like them all, some I think would be harder to embroidery!

my paint software wont curve letters , can someone do the Curved letters and email them to me and I will put them on there and post a new patch design for Muntz , looking at it it might be like something Moon is working on.

I voted for #5 cause i can't read latin...

I voted for #8 just because I have been part of designing a patch and having embroidery done. It woudl be the easiest (cheapest) to have made as embroidery doesn't do well with shades such as the light and dark blend of grey of the deathstar. multi color works OK, but multi-shade does not, unless it is going to be screen printed, but I'd suggest against that as well based on experience.

Just my thoughts, the NJK logo in my avatar is our chapter patch and we had to change it a bit from it's original to it's current design due to embroidery issues.

OK, notice on the above patch design for our CMA chapter. The original patch design had a fade of dark purple to lighter purple on it. We had to compromise and go with a solid color due to embroidery restrictions in what they can and cannot do. Also in the end patch we ended up having to remove a few of the smaller details at the bottom such as the jerusalem cross and the casper WY part. They can only embroider so much detail, and even that is limited in what colors, and how much youwant to spend. They cannot really do a shade effect like on the deathstar in the above ones. It could be all the same shade of grey, but not fading from light to dark as in the picture, or not to the same degree.

Just trying to help out here, that's all.

There is going to be a change to patch 7, those who have done patches have told me that the colors are to close and shades don't work. so on patch #7 background dark blue with white stars , Deathstar light gray with dark gray dent and tire black with dark gray tread.
This will simplify the patch but you won't have the detail we have now.

OK, I like different things about each of these. Please don't take offense at any critique.
#6..... I like the red coloring, it definitely needs the latin on top
#8..... Nice clean lines, just needs a little centering
#10 .... We need to correct the spelling. I like the "darkness" of the claw, however I like the more aggressive looking tire like in #6. In some way it reminds me of an old Cooper tire logo.

Well there ya go. Thanks Horse, you do man. Now there is too many decisions. I will wait till yall choose one. I myself am going to sit this one out. The last time I voted the wrong choice was made. Big time..... No I did not vote on the big O-Dumby

I voted for #2. Not a huge fan of the whole star wars thing.

I like them all. But I voted #8 cause, well..... It's mine.
I think this was fun and I like them all. I would wear any one that is chosen. I thank Horse for putting this pole togather and getting this party started.
