What's fuel consumption like?
Hello all, I really enjoyed the videos and the help requested. I'm waiting for my ct to get here, After weight and tire pressures adjustments etc.., Is there any difference in mileage. I try to use 93 or better as I've used it the last 5yrs,outta a regular mt I usually get about 145 to the tank. When my ct gets in I'll post again and hopefully could be added to the Darksiders list for my area. Thanks again Gator..

well, the milage should be about the same, but you might wanna try and run 87 octane since that's what the motor was designed to run on. The higher octane is doing nothing positive for you.

Gator, after I went Darkside, I got another 10-15 miles on a tank.

I'm getting 40 mpg since I switched to the General Grabber. I usually run 89 octane fuel because my bike runs like 5h!t on the 87 octane gas sold at the little non-branded country gas stations around here. If I fill up at a BP/Amoco I use the 87.

heard rumors of higher probability of gumming stuff up and fouling plugs with the higher octane. It's def not better for the engine, it doesn't burn as completely because we don't have the compression to take advantage of the higher octane.

I can't say for sure as I am still addicted to the power of my 1800. Once I learn to slow down off the line then I will be able to give a more accurate figure. Until then......

running at CT on a Valkyrie Tourer
Run the cheap gas, because that what it was built for and what the bike calls for.
I've not noticed any difference tank to tank because of the tires. Not when I was switching motorcycle style tires and not when I went to the Darkside.
When I moved to PA from NC I am seeing an improvement, probably because of the air difference...or it could be all these 45 and 50 mph zones...I don't know.

Re: What's fuel consumption like?
at best most mileage differences are going to come from variances in the difference of the diameters of the tires between the old and the new...
