cheap boot protection
I admit I might be a little cheap. I'm to cheap to buy a pair of waterproof boots just to ride in the rain. I have a real good pair of wolverine dura shocks now that the company I worked for bought. So with that being said I went to an out door world store and bought a vinyl wadder boot liner for $8.99. I then cut the feet off them and cut the back of them open. Now when it rains I can just slip them over my boots and under my rain pants.
let you know how they work later.

Job is a job, glad to have it but I'd rather retire. But I like Texas.

Re: cheap boot protection
Rub some of this into your boots... instant waterproofing. I only have to do it 1 or 2 times per year to keep dry.
If you have brown leather boots it will darken the leather when you use this product. I have used it for years. I used to work as a cable guy and had to climb telephone poles all winter in Iowa... (rain, sleet, snow, etc.) Never had wet/cold feet. Especially nice because it still allows your feet to breathe.
You can find it on the net or at most hardware/farm supply stores in the mid-west.

Re: cheap boot protection
I have a pair of ariel ropers for riding boots. $100. Rubber soles and water proof. Warm with down to 30 degrees at least. Might try some sno seal on them if they ever start to leak.
There's some police boots that I am looking at for my next purchase....but really like my ropers. Good enough looking where I can wear them most anywhere except church....
I like your boot protector by the way.
