I'm sure this has already been asked, but since I am a rookie to this site I wonder if anyone can tell me what is the largest size CT I can put on my VTX 1300C without doing any mods.

Not sure about the 1300. I have an 1800. Go to www.vtxoa.com and post on the 1300 tech board. Are you a member of the vtxoa? Lots of nice folks to ride with. Look me up on the Ga board. BIGT FROM F.B.

Use the recommended pressure to start off. Then add a few, subtract a few till you find a pressure you like. I think the consensus is around 41psi....

Thanks bunches guys. I am nervous about this but after reading all of your posts and how much you guys rave about it I figure I can do it also. I suppose it takes a lot of getting used to especially in turning.

Not a big deal at all. I have been on the DS for only 1 month. No problems. Even rode in the rain just after putting the new tire on. Don't listen to all the non-believers out there. I had someone reluctantly balance my tire, and the whole time she gave me attitude about how I must not like to go around corners. Evil or Very Mad THAT IDIOT!!! She's there to help customers, not give them a lecture on the decisions that we make. Just my 2c worth.

Can's wait. Now still another question, Can a couple of guys with tire spoons get it on with out a machine? I am not mechanically inclined and I am anxious to do this but nervous as hell. Is it hard to get used to turning?

You have to just remember to push the tire with your knees into the groove that inside the rim between the two outer lips allow the tire to be able to go on the rim and then take small bite with the spoons on the tire. Nothing patience and time can't accomplish!......... Very Happy I have mounted quite a few, but I usually let a small shop do it for inconvenience of time. Good luck and let us know how it comes out!

I can only answer your turning question with one of my own.... Was it hard to get used to countersteering? You do in every curve wether you realize it or not. So It will be about that hard. It takes a little more countersteer if you want to scrap the pegs or boards. Other than that there is no diference, nothing to get used to, except the bike standing up a little faster after the curve......
You wont be sorry....
