Car tire for my shadow

Hi all, brand new member here from south central PA. I have been hearing lately of folks replacing their rear tires with a car tire. I have a 2003 Shadow ACE. Can anyone provide some info on this? I go through a tire per year. This year is worse, I replaced it in March and now I am needing to replace it again. I currently have Dunlops and am very displeased with them. Thanks for any help.

What size tire do you have on it now?

Tube or tubeless (spokes or not)?

We do need a little more data like Steve-O asked to get you the correct tire. Welcome to our site and you will love the darkside. That's the same reason why I changed....couldn't get a tire to last more than 7000 miles.

Hey guys thanks for the welcome. I have a Dunlop 170/80/15 tubeless tire on it now. The wheel does have spokes. It is 2003 Shadow 750 ACE. Need anything else let me know. Thanks again.

165/80/15 VW tire is what you will need to run! I ran it on my 1300 and it is the ticket! It will be about 2 lbs. lighter than you stock motorcycle tire so, it should help you on acceleration also. Of course you can use the stock motorcycle tube to mount it!
