Sorry
I have not been able to find anybody riding a M50 using the Dark Side. Not one single person!

Re: Need tire size for M50
My only advice would be to use a tire conversion chart to find a size close to what you have, then go to a tire site and find something close to your radius and width that will fit on your rim.
As you move down this path feel free to ask anything you want. Some one will help.....
You will be our first M50 darksider.....

Re: Need tire size for M50
Our 1300 C models run a 170/80/15 stock.
So, if you're clearance is good a 165r15 should work. I'd measure the bead width of your rim. I'm betting it's the same 3.5" as ours.

I went with a 195-65-15... It fits and rides IMO better than the MC tire ever did.

Questions for going to the dark side on a 2007 M50
First, I found you guys by accident. I was looking for a wider tire size for my M50 and here we are.
Questions:
Who will mount the tire for you on a bike, can a car shop do it or a bike shop?
what is the widest that is safe for the bike?
what brand do you recomend and type?
what are the plans to go darkside on the front tire?
how does it look?
I love my M50 and use it to ride back and forth to work, looking for a safer tire, wider tire to fill out the rear and something to handle the rain here in north florida.
Thanks guys.

Re: Need tire size for M50
I'm running a 185/65/15 on mine. But, you could go 195/65/15 I believe that as wide as you can go. I'm using a General Altimax HP tire.
But, I also like the Goodyear Triple Trend. CT tires handle way better in the rain too.

Re: Need tire size for M50
you would have to measure the clearance in the swing arm. To see if the 205 will hit.

170 stock tire. that would make it 25 mm wider.

Re: Need tire size for M50
It looks like I am going with the Altimax HP 195-65-15. I will pick it up friday and have it on by the weekend. I wanted to go with the 205 but it looks like it would fit in the swing arm but rub the drive shaft.

Re: Need tire size for M50
DarkSide installed.
the mechanic informed me that he had a bit of a time getting the bead to seat. Please look at avatar for pic. There is a chance that a 205 could fit. This is a 195 65 15 General ATX HP.
