After about 5 tries, you can push start a VTX1300 in 1st gear. Of course leaving the key on for 5 hours and being all alone is good motivation. If someone was video taping, I bet they win one of those TV contests for the funniest videos.

You have to get it going at a pretty good clip and then pop the clutch in and out and get real lucky. A little hill at the top of the parking lot helps. And of course it started raining in the middle of all of this.

It happens to us all, before I put in a relay in, I left my lights on and killed the battery , I put it in second and pushed it and it started right up. i guess i was lucky. I heard that on the darkside rally thay had the same thing happen and jumped it to start it . by the way read about the jumper cables they made , 4 alligator clips and 2 6ft wires , I'll look for it and brb Very Happy

1st gear worked better for me, I just had to get is rolling pretty good. Second would have been good if I had someone else to help give me a push. I could not get enough speed with the small hill and pushing with my legs while in the seat. I am sure it looked pretty funny.

Don't do it this way. They're doing it wrong.
