Slayed the Dragon
Steve and I decided to make our vacation the Honda Hoot. Where the hoot was ok for a day, the riding here is awesome. We rode the dragon this morning and afterwards, we rode Cherohala Skyway, coming back into knoxville via 360 & 411. What a great day of riding. We did about 300 miles of curves and hills. Guys, this area is definitely where we should do the darkside rally next year. Didn't see a single cop on the dragon, but then again, it wasn't the weekend.
Oh, and the darkside did it's magic. I had to shut down fast to keep from running over Steve who stopped unexpectedly in front of me. I left a trail of smoke and the rear end didn't even shimmy.

Jerry you kill me.
Like Twin said check out some areas when you get some down time and are not having all that fun. It really sucks to hear about all the great riding and I am still stuck out in the Gulf of Mexico. Been almost a month and a half since my baby has been fired up. I might have to call on one of yall to tend to her before I get reported for abuse and neglect.
Yall ride safe and be careful. Please keep us on the up and up.
Peace

Already been giving that some thought. I was thinking Maryville would be great. Just south of Knoxville, pretty close to the dragon and charahala. I went through there yesterday, and will go through again today on my way to Gatlinburg. I'll give it a closer look. It would be great if we did the rally and caught the tailend of the hoot too. Daily passes are only 15.00/daily. We only went one day and rode the others.
The meet and greets (parties) are at the end and you don't have to pay to get in. And, we could meet some fellow vtx'rs that we've talked with online. I met Kevin Kuiper yesterday. They are having a vtx get together today, but I'll be in Gatlinburg, so I'll miss that one.
By the way, Kevins bike is sweet. He entered into the bike show, but didn't place.

If you get turned in for "abuse and neglect"...that would be Muntz!
But if you want to ride when you get back in....call me when you hit dirt!

(whoa, I think I heard a shot across my bow) ......
I guess that would be another "too much time on my hands comment" ??? Hmmm keep it up, ya hear!
Don't make me tell Jerry to start another 99 page thread.
Or start a new "send Twin an empty box" campaign.

Robbinsville , North Carolina
Robbinsville , North Carolina would be the best place IMO for a DarkSide rally I've lived in the Tennessee mountains all my life and have been ridin' motorcycle since I was 13. Robbinsville is 18 miles from Deal's Gap ( The Dragon ) you also have Cherohala Skyline -Bald River Falls- The Hellbender- Dry Falls- Bridal Vein Falls - White Water Falls - Looking Glass Falls etc. All within a easy day ride ( 275 miles ). Some of the best roads in the area are not famous roads like Wayah , War Woman and The Road To Nowhere etc.I have a Fall Color Ride every Oct. out of Robbinsville for the art of motorcycling you could not get any better.Photo below is last years Fall Color Ride we had 53 bikes show-up in Robbinsville at The Phillips Motel. The Phillips Motel is American owned and you will not find a cleaner place to stay. Miss Reba has fire-pits with plenty of wood you can party all night if you want to and nothing is ever said. A very biker friendly place to stay.
