Looking for some help. A friend of mine called on Saturday, said he had gotten a flat tire while out on a ride. He had another friend of his come with a trailer to bring his bike home which is a VTX 1800 R. They got to talking and turns out this guy has a Goldwing and has a run flat tire on it and loves it. Anyway, Tony is a member on here and for some reason can't get logged back on. He was curious if any VTX 1800 Rs are running any run flat tires, and what brand and what size you are running. Thanks for your help.

I would like to know this too>

I have a 2002 R and want a Run Flat tire after the GY TT wears out in another year or two.
I might swap early if I read some good information.
I would really like to take 1/2 the tire worries away if I can.

I do not run a tun flat and in all honesty I cant recommend it to anyone that does not have some type of tire pressure indicator system on their ride. Lets face it, we are supposed to check our tire pressure before we get on the road, but do we? I mean every day? Well if you develope a leak with a run flat it will hold up and you wont notice it until say you get on hard into a corner or an emergency braking situation. Then it will be to late, without full pressure the tire buckles and the worst happens.
Of course this is all just spculation on my part since I have never used one. But from the comments gathered here over the last 3+ years I think it is pretty accurate. I hope someone with the experience chimes in to confirm or tell me I'm full of it.

Just put RideOn in the tire. Much less expensive, balances the tire and plugs holes up to 1/8". I'm running the ATV stuff and it plugs up to 1/4" puncture. Am riding on it right now- smooth as glass and there is a 3/16" hole, center tread that has been there for about 3K miles, plugged only with the RideOn.

WOW now that is impressive, riding and posting on the web!
But isn't that like texting and driving?
Dangerous to all.

I don't have my VTX but I do have a run flat on my wing with no TPMS and no problems so far. I do keep an eye on it and check it weekly at least.
