Dyna Beads
I have a Victory Vision and put on my first CT a few months back and now just ordered a rear MC tire to put on the front. I bought some Dyna Beads to put in my rear tire but I haven't yet done it. The inside of the Bridgestone Pontenza that I put on had "V" shaped ridges in it and a very thin smooth strip in the center, less than a 1/4" that I remember, and I was just wondering if the beads would work properly with these ridges inside the tire? If so, how many oz. would you put in it? It's a 195 width, and I think 55 aspect ratio x 18" rim.
Also curious as to how many oz. to put in the front when I put it on? It's a 130/70H-18 Bridgestone BT45

Dyna beads
I have run Dyna beads in both tires on my 2011 Road King for 6000 miles. I really like them as they seem to do a good job. I run the recomended 2oz and it works well. I changed my rear tire that had run them for maybe around three thousand miles and when I took those beads out they were like new so used them in the new Hankook. The inside of the tire looked as good as new.3 oz in rear.
Hope this helps

Re: Dyna Beads
I can't see how they could possibly work in there is they aren't free to roll around and settle. The center ridge, no problem but if it has "fins" inside, no way. I'm gonna have to go look at one myself just out of curiosity. Surely ridges would hold them in the wrong place.

Re: Dyna Beads
If you happen to take a look at a Bridgestone Potenza 019 then pay attention to the ridges inside and let me know what you think. I wish I would have taken a picture. I know the ridges were in a "V" formation towards the center but I guess it depends on which way they wer positioned as to whether they will channel the beads towards the center of the tire where they would have the smooth area to reposition or if the V is the opposit direction it may channel them to the outer edge of the tire where they may cause an out of balance problem?quadancer wrote:I can't see how they could possibly work in there is they aren't free to roll around and settle. Re: Dyna Beads
You guys agree that I should put 2oz in the front which is a 130/70-18? I'll probably put the tire on tomorrow.

Re: Dyna Beads
Ya, and 3 oz. for a CT. I removed 4 oz. of lead weights for the CT and put in 3 oz. of beads. It was smooth with or without the weights.
That's how well they work.

Re: Dyna Beads
I talked to this guy on the phone about these beads. He said they are a little bigger than the dyna beads so they can't be put in your tire by way of the applicator through the valve stem, but can be installed prior to setting the bead on a tire change by pouring them inside the tire right after mounting. And at $1.70 an ounce( you get them at $1.70 an ounce if you call him direct instead of using e-bay to purchase), they are cheap enough, AND are made of ceramic like the "dyna beads".

Re: Dyna Beads
Dyna beads are just sand blasting beads. I have had mixed results. The first time I used them they stuck to the sidewalls on any of the tire lube I used. My front tire ended up with a death wobble towards the end of it life and it had the beads in them, the tire also had some uneven ware on it.
I am not against them just had some mixed results as I said. I am curious if the bigger beads will stick to the KY jelly used in mounting the rear car tire.

Re: Dyna Beads
You can't use GREASE when mounting if beads are desired. Dry lube, silicone spray, WD 40 and such have all be used with success.
It's been mentioned a lot.

Dyna Beads
I finally got around and installed 2oz's of the dyna beads in both tires and i was amazed at the smoothness of the ride. I removed 1.75 oz of lead from the front tire and 0.75 oz from the rear. I used 2oz's in each tire. It rides so smooooooooooth.

Re: Dyna Beads
Do you have to use the filtered valve cores with the Dyna beads or can you use stock valve cores?

Installation
I reviewed the installation pictures on the website for motorcycles and it implies you just connect the tube to the valve stem and wait...
Just so I am clear what are the install steps? Do I remove the valve core?

re installation
Let the air out, remove valve core attach tube and start adding beads. It will proubably help if you tap on the valve stem while installing the beads.

Re: Dyna Beads
Yes you have to remove the valve core.
I used a Dewalt finish sander with the sand paper removed to vibrate the tube. The Dynabeads just flowed in.

Re: Dyna Beads
$11 for shipping? for 20oz? Yikes. There are some local dealers I'll check out.
Good news is that it looks like dyna beads are getting popular.
