Building a trailer for my 1300!
I have been toying with building an above the fender hitch for my ride and using a porkchop tool box with one wheel and using the porkchop part as a fender! What ya' think guys??? I would use the one that's 13" wide for more storage and it would stay compact.

Bobby, I've no idea what you're talking about. A porkchop?
Anyway, wish you good luck with it, I'm sure you'll work it out.
Robert.

By looking at the drawing it kind of looks like a pork chop.
Not sure about the handling on something that is rigidly attached to a bike though...

Finally.....somebody see the similarities from the drawing to a porkchop!!!! I would use the offset to put the rear wheel and it can double as a fender.
This is a common design instead of the two wheeled trailers. Here's a link to a vid.

Working on the design now! Can't wait to see what and how it comes out! I hope it don't take 4 or 5 tries to get it right.....

fairing
I loved it, it fit well & worked great. I sold the bike about a year ago 76,000 trouble free miles.

Re: Building a trailer for my 1300!
So are you going to remove your bike's rear fender? Is it your intention to have the cutout part of the pork chop go over your rear tire? Just trying to get a visual image.twin1300 wrote:I have been toying with building an above the fender hitch for my ride and using a porkchop tool box with one wheel and using the porkchop part as a fender!
link of this type of trailer
Have you seen these trailers? I am thinking of building one of these.....

That way the hitch can be higher, and not be so ugly when the trailer is not on.

Looks like a possible usuable trailer. What are your goals over a traditional trailer? A friend and I took a HF trailer and narrowed it almost 20 inches. Then we bolted down a college dorm fridge on it. The freezer section made a great cooler and the main area held out tent, blankets and stuff.

It's above the fender hitch!!! I know it sounds like it will be gawdy, but I am going to use the same bolts that hold the back rest build a hitch up and over the tail light and below my trunk. I have a C model so the hitch options for that is slim to none for a conventional trailer thus the one wheel trailer that tracks in line with the bike, so I will fab this up and see if I can make it work. I also have one other option to make it just under the fender, but that is going to be a heavy hitch to use it there.
I will use 3/4 steel tubing which strong and heavy walled so it can take it.
