Baby got new shoes...
Took my tire and wheel down to my local independent tire shop and they had no problem doing the Michelin HydroEdge 205/70/15 on my 1300 VTX wheel.
Seated at about 60psi on about the 4th inflate.
They only charged me $8, but I did tip the guy who mounted it well...
I also had them mount my old General Grabber on a utility trailer wheel, that I told the wife I needed an old tire for...
I put 3oz of Dynabeads and 36psi in it and took it for a short ride. It feels good, I'll give a complete report when I get back from the Smokies next month.

Great tire. What did you pay for it if I may ask?
If it was a lousy tip you probably paid too much !
Robert.

I got the same tire on mine. I settled at 34 and it is very nice. 40 made it walk all over the road, but now it is smooth like warm butter.

Now THAT'S what I'M talkin' 'bout! If all you guys tipped REGARDLESS of how much you paid for the install, those guys would be more than happy to keep mounting tires for us and possibly the word would spread that "those bikers" really appreciate them. For me, I found that the tires are no harder to mount than a MT, so my tire irons save me the bucks. At least, the Vredestein is easy to mount is what I know.

That Hydroedge looks like its got a real good tread pattern.
How many miles did you put on the General Grabber? How long was it on?
Thanks.

I've had the Grabber about 2 years, and about 15,000 miles, it's not as worn out as it looks in the picture.
It's a great riding tire and was just starting to wear in the center. But I was wanting to try something different.
It will still last a long time on the trailer...

Re: Baby got new shoes...
I've put about 200 miles on this tire and the last 100 I've been playing with the pressure and shock settings.
Seems like the Michelin likes a lower air pressure and softer shock preload than the Grabber did.
I had my Progressive 440s set at 4 turns from full soft and 38 psi with the Grabber. The Michelin is at 3 turns and 34 psi. I'm going to try this a while, but I'm thinking that I may take at least another 1/2 turn out and drop the pressure to 32 psi.
I know these settings are prolly only good for my big butt, but I was surprised at the difference between the two tires.

I've put another 300 miles on the Michelin HydroEdge, I've settled on 34psi and 2 turns from full soft on my shocks.
I just got back from some pretty good twisties just east of here.
Comparing the Michelin to the General Grabber, both have great traction,
but the Michelin is a lot smoother, it is just marshmallow smooth.... and sticks like crazy...
