HELP!! I need a darkside tire size
I have an 03 vtx 1800 R with spoke rims. my rear is currently (stock) 170/80/15. I was told i can fit a 205 under my retro fender is this true? and what size of tire do I need?

Re: HELP!! I need a darkside tire size
Welcome!
A 205/70/15 will work just fine, might have to turn your rear exhaust bolt around backwards.
Michelin Hydroedge, Goodyear TripleTred, and General Grabber UHP are 3 good tires that come to mind.

Re: HELP!! I need a darkside tire size
I have the 205/65-15 on My VTX 1800 S. I went with the Goodyear Triple Tred and I turned my muffler mount bolts around so the heads were inside. The tire fits no problem just have to let the air out to slip it up in place then air it back up. Make sure you clean and apply a liberal coat of new moly paste on your spline when you put the wheel back on.

Re: HELP!! I need a darkside tire size
I think the Grabber is very smooth. The sidewall will flex well so there is a great contact patch even scraping pegs.
There is only about 1/2 inch in total diameter between a 70 series and a 65 series tire. That is only a 1/4 inch more up under
the fender on a 70 series tire. The 65 series turns about 30 more revolutions per mile, I don't think you would notice much difference.
