I got to looking at my tires today..........

It's time for a new front tire. So I decided to go back and look at my log and see when I installed the CT and at what mileage. I've had a good run and still have rubber left to burn. I went Darkside back on 8/21/08 @ 35,672 on the odometer. I replaced the front tire the same month on 08/08/08 (ha! I just noticed the date). Following is the tire replacement schedule:

4/07 - Purchased Bike and replaced tires with the first 5K miles (Dunlop)
08/08/08 - Front tire 34,500 miles (Metzler)
08/21/08 - Rear tire (CT) 35,672 miles
04/27/10 - Front tire 47,110 miles (Avon Venom)

Today I'm at 55,022 miles and in need of another front tire. I may get another 1,000 out it but I don't want to push it too far. The back tire ... I'll probably get at least another 5K and maybe even 10K. There is still a lot of tread left, with good deep grooves. Observations:

Dunlop got me about 10,500 (because I didn't keep close tabs on mileage the first time around - only estimates)
Metzler got me 12,610 miles
Venom got me 7,912 miles (so far)

I guess the Metzler performs the best.

Oh yea - CT ... 19,350 miles and still going strong.

Yes I got 12,000 out of my first Metzlers and 14,000 out of the next set, probably could have gone another 1000 or so on both. I put another ME 880 on with the GYTT I just put on Monday. I only got 7000 out of the stock dunnies.
