Lost it in a right hand sweeper Empty Lost it in a right hand sweeper

Post  smokey2255 Sat Aug 07, 2010 12:18 am

Thursday evening, out playing and riding hard I was digging through a right hand sweeper and lost it. I have no idea what happened to cause it to comeout from under me. A couple more days of healing I will go back to the scene and try to puzzle it out. I am pretty skinned up on arms, face and head. No gear on, no helmet just a t shirt and glasses, No doubt that I am lucky to be alive, I wil take that blessing. The bike is in pretty bad shape, but it cab be replaced or fixed. Right now I dont even care, got to get me healed up before I worry about the scoot.

See you out there

Wow, glad you survived. Accidents happen and we try to learn from those. I've gone down in curves, been backed over, rear-ended, and run over. Spent too much time and money in hospitals. Do I wear? I do now.

Those of us who like the sparks all wonder if we'll ever highside it. Glad you made it out; sorry for the damages.
You have all our undivided attention now as you investigate; do you think you either had a bump in the curve or
maybe got too hard into the metal?
Anyhoo, my experience with accident scenes is to get on them as soon as possible, especially before it rains, or all
your clues get wiped out. Now suck it up and hobble over there and let us know. And don't get your wheelchair hit!
Really, I thank God you're alive; you've been great to us.

Moon, you lie ... "road rash aint comfortable" my ass, it plain out hurts Very Happy Laughing The road rash is worse than a burn, if you have ever suffered a burn you have an idea, now just add in the grime rocks and grass to have to clean out of it and you have an idea.

There ws efinately and oil based product on the road, fuel or oil don't know. It was way bigger patch on the right side of the lne than the left. My buddy said his bobbled coming through, he was on th left side. Looking at the road scars and the position the bike landed I am fairly certain the front washed out on me. That coincides with the road rash damage on me too. I would expect had it been the rear that I would of landed more on my ass and not my arms.

I want to tell yall too that I have the best wife ever. She took the weekend off to tend to me and has done a wonderful job of it. And believe it or not ... without bitching at me, and trust me she has plenty to bitch at me about. Got to love a good woman.

thanks for the well wishes, I will post pics of the scoot later

See you out there

Smokey I'm glad it wasn't any worse than it was. It looks like your right. The front has slipped out from under me twice now and the arms on my jacket were tore up like that. Heal quick. And I think Cassie is a good woman too.

Sorry for your suffering, Smokey. Thanks for posting about your crash and including that painful looking photo. We ride like you, mostly unprotected except for the helmets and know that we are taking a serous risk. As a result of this thread I will be more cautious at all times and back off that throttle at bit on those wonderful sweepers. I hope you heal fast.

"Just a flesh wound Sarge, gimme my gun back!"
Hey, I know firsthand how you feel, except you got a LOT of RR - trick I learned living in the hills of Mo. - Neighbor dumped a panful of hot grease on his stomach and the ONLY thing they had in the cabin was Chloroseptic throat wash for sore throats. It took the pain away immediately (numbing effect) and it healed up fast and nice (antibiotic effect). This works for cuts, burns, rash and a host of open skin conditions. Cheap too!

Sorry to hear bout your "incident'. Heal up quick. From what has been said, apparently this was not a tire issue-any tire would have ended up with the same results. I've only hit the pavement once- really hard slam at low speed- but your experience will make me think twice about not wearing that vented jacket on the warm days

Dude

Dude.
When your dad is close go outside and fire up your bike. Rev it up some and go ride it close to the house. Make multipal passes. That should really speed up the healing process. This is my version of being supportive.
