I am going to do it. I just need to know what is the best route to go. Tire size and all the jazz. Is there anyone that will install it or do I have to take off the rim and have it done at a tire shop. What is the best size to go with and tire make? I am going to do it if it is not extremely hard.

I HAVE A 2002 VTX 1800C

you'll have to call around to shops and see what or if they will do with a CT... some are receptive and some will call you crazy and send you on your way... find a tire you like in a 205/60/16 or a 205/65/16 (the 65 series is closest to the stock speedo, if I recall correctly) the Goodyear Triple Tread is 1 popular choice, the Michilen Hydroedge another, several good toyo tires, but there are tons of options. Wink Do some searching around and internet looking, can't hurt to browse local shops to see what they have in stock either...

HELLO FROM DETROIT Empty What to Do

Pick out the wickedest tread design you can find . I chose a Bridgestone Potenza G019 v 205-06-16 it looks great and feels even better when I'm ridding . Take a look at the new Firestone Fire Hawk I couldn't wait till june to get one but if your willing to wait a couple of weeks they should have it in stock. The tread pattern is wild . Just choose the 205/60/16 in H or V rated you should be good with speedo reading . Do the clearancing under the fender and you you should be good to go. Any Good custom shop should be able to mount the tire for you. I also used DYNA BEADS for balancing. Good ridding to ya !

I like the 70 series myself. Gives the bike a little more clearance. Plus a little taller menas lower rpm's. But it is a choice you have to make.
See you out there

Welcome to our world. It happens all the time! Heck the shops here will NOT even mount a motorcycle tire that you don't purchase from them!

So what do you end up doing? How do you get your tires mounted.

I got to a car tire shop and I have to remove the disc so they can use the machine for car rims to mount mine!
