I am officially on DARK MEAT
Ladies and Gentlemen
Spuddaddy is now officially a Darksider!!!
I used a wire wheel to buff the inside of the rim and the spoke ends.
Acetone to clean it.
Nashua aluminum tape to cover the ends of the spokes.
I got a little weird on this step.... I took a 7mm Rem Mag case(something about the same diameter as the spoke ends) and placed it in the center of the tape squares I cut. Used the exacto knife to score the tape backing paper. Leaving the center circle with paper to cover the spoke ends. (In my mind the spoke ends will be able to move freely)
Placed the 52 pieces of aluminum tape with the paper circles in the center over the spoke ends...
Wiped again with acetone....gently so as not to remove any tape squares.
Mixed PC-11 about 1/4 of a pound (1/2 of each can)
Covered the tape and spoke ends evenly with PC-11 using a paint mixing stick.
Spun the wheel to find the heavy side of the wheel.(it was the side with the valve stem) Added epoxy at the spot that stopped on top till I had it balanced.
Left the epoxy dry overnight.
Had Zeke(The motorcycle mechanic on Belleville Road) mount the tire.
Put 100 miles on it since yesterday.......
I have a question........WHY DON"T MOTORCYCLES COME WITH THESE TIRES FROM THE FACTORY???????
I was scraping pegs all the way to work......
I like Dark Meat!!!!!!
