just picked up my first nail on my DS tire...plugs ?
Hey -
While rolling my rear tire to get to my valve stem to check the pressure, noticed a shiny little circular item directly in the thick part of my tire tread.
Yep, looks like a nail..haven't pulled it out yet so I'm hoping that it did not penetrate the steel belts underneath...?
I have never bought or dealt with tire plugs...
Any brand suggestions ? Are they all the same ? Is a Napa brand better than a Walmart brand, Advanced Auto, etc ?
Definitely want something that is gonna plug the leak air tight, last, etc...
Or should the tire be pulled patched, etc...
From the $$ side hoping most have plugged with no problems whatsoever...
Let me know...and if there is any particular brand or type plug y'all have used...
Thanks again...
Oh, just turned about 10,000 miles on my CT... still looks like new on the tread... running about 40 lbs in it...

bring it over to my house and I'll plug it for you.
it is no big deal , I've done it before and have driven on a plugged tire for 10,000 miles .
sent a PM with phone number to you.

I have found that the ct will not pick up nails as easily.
If you do, they rarely penetrate....seems like I have one every time I change tires but none have penetrated.
If they do penetrate, plug it and go. If you have dynabeads, they self balance.
