VULCAN 750 Empty Pictures and CT sizes for taking a vn750 to the DS

Hey Santanas, here is a link to the vn750.com forum, and the results of a search I did on "darkside." Checkout the 6th and the 2nd thread listed, that are both started by craznurs. http://www.vn750.com/forum/search.php?searchid=326665

On post # 18 in the "Offically on the Darkside Now" thread, click on her second photo link for 3 pictures all together in the Gallery, for pics of a Vredestien 165H15 mounted on her 1985 VN700 (identical to the `86 to 2006 VN750 bikes as far as frame size etc.) She has just recently sold the Vulcan with 15K miles on the CT, and it still has 3/4 of the tread left. Smile See her "New Ride "Thread.

About half way down there is a link to "Suggested DS tire sizes for your Cruiser".
The Yamaha Royal Star Venture runs the same size tire as the vn750, a 150/90 - 15. The Suggested CT sizes are 155/80/15 and 165/80/15.

Several members of the vn750 forum have changed out the 150/90/15 for a 170/80/15 MC tire on their own bikes.
I do not think you could fit the larger 175/80/15 and 195/60/15 CT on the vn750, that the Yamaha V Stars can apparently use.
I have NO firsthand knowledge of this, only what I have read that others have written about clearance with the swingarm, etc.

Good luck with your conversion to the DS.

PS. - If you are not already a member of the vn750 forum, and own one of the bikes, you are missing out on an asset that doubles the value of the Vulcan 750 in my opinion.
