1. i have an 06 road star 9 spoke rim that has a 150/80/16 MC tire. what size ct can i use????
2. I'm a pretty hard rider and Ive been reading that at over 85 you get speed wobble is this true????
3. what are the best brands of ct's should i use??
4. does it need a tube and if not can i bring it to any tire shop for mount and balence?

Re: new to the site
Any one with any Yammie expirience please. Worm is a budd of mine any help highly appreciated.
Re: new to the site
Welcome to the site.
The 9 spoke wheel is cast so a tubeless tire will work. The best tire is debatable. More and more people are using the goodyear tripple tread. As for size there is a thread here that Horse posted showing how to measure your bike for that. Found it..
https://mcdarksiders.forumotion.com/general-motorcycle-tech-information-f14/how-to-check-to-see-the-maximum-tire-size-to-fit-your-bike-t3153.htm?highlight=how+to+check
Good luck and keep us updated..

Re: new to the site
Worm....so far the wobble has to do with problems associated with the Honda 1300's. We haven't seen the issues with other make of bikes so far!

RE NEW TO THE SIGHT
There is a chart on this forum somewhere that gives ct sizes according to your stock mc tire size but I can't find it, I am sure one of the moderators will chime in this afternoon . Mine actualy called for 195 but I went with 205-60-16.Just give them a little time they will be happy to answer any questions. Good helpful people here.

This is going to be a little bit taller than your current tire, but should be okay. 131 vs 120.

RE NEW TO THE SIGHT
Take whatever tire brand and model tire you are considering,go to tire rack .com. find your tire and look under specs. it will give exact measurements on the tire.

ok the first number is the tire width in mm.
the second number is the height in % of the width.
third number is the rim size.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
so a 185/85r16 is taller then a 175/85r16
and here is the kicker that you can't even go by that at all .
from manufacturer to manufacturer you get different sizes of the same number.
look in tire rack :
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/index.jsp?camefrom=&fromIndex=true&index=xx
as you find your size, and click on a tire, then click on specs, you will see that width and height .
so that is why i measure and measure again to find exactly what will work.
good luck,
Horse

Re: new to the site

Re: new to the site
I'm sold on dyna beads. They keep your tire balanced for the life of the tire and at any speed. I see no cupping or abnormal wear on my tires with dynabeads.
Make sure you put them in a "dry" tire. If you lube it to get it on, you will want to wait till the lube dissapates before addind dynabeads....couple months and 500 miles should do.

Re: new to the site
I did the old fashion way with weights and static balance.
Most here swear by dyna-beads , others don't .
it is up to you , ride on weights for a while and you can switch later.
go to you tube and search for "motorcycle tire change" or "static balance"
and you will see a video with how to do it and it is easy to do.
good luck
