Mismatched Rims
I have a VTX 1300 R/S, and here's the deal.
A while back I bought a rear cast rim and had a General Grabber mounted on it. I have not been able to run down a cast front rim. Can I run the cast rear rim and the spoker in front? I have not bought a new front tire yet, (11,000 on front tire) waiting to get a cast rim before I do.
Anyway, other than looking odd, any problem running with two different rims?
All input is appreciated.

Re: Mismatched Rims
Shouldn't have any trouble at all. The rear rim might catch a little more wind than the front but not enough to worry about.

Re: Mismatched Rims
No issue at all, lots of harleys come factory with mismatched rims. My best friend used to have an '04 HD 1200custom and it had a solid aluminum rear (no holes) and a 21" spoke front. The softail duece also runs a solid cast rear and spoke front. It looks odd to me, but apparently it is the way to go or HD would never do it. In other words, it'll just make your bike that much cooler

I have that set up!
I have a vtx 1300s but with a R mag on the rear and the stock spoke up front. I can't tell any difference on wind or such, actual rides better since I have the Douglas ct on her!

Re: Mismatched Rims
Thanks guys. I am running a new Metz 880 Marathon on my front spoker and the General Grabber on a cast rear.
Love it!! She sticks and handles. I must be a manly man to go Darkside and run mismatched rims, but I don't mind taking the road less traveled.
(See the 1300 Tech for my winter mods.)
