Mold release trick I learned
OK, I figured this one out on my own and it really seems to have worked out real good. I got tired of riding all slow and careful waiting for the mold release to wear off my new tires. Then I got to thinking one day. When the pain from thinking finally went away I had a new idea. I've tried it out several times and now swear by it.
So, the trick is to take your new tire down a dirt road, sandy area or soft dirt. Hard dirt doesn't work as good and sand seems to work best. Drop the clutch and do a "burnout" in the sand spinning it fast, preferably 2nd or 3rd gear if you feel comfy doing that. After about 30 seconds to a minute you'll need to go wash off your bike from the dirt, but then go ride and enjoy.
I know this may sound silly, but the sand will scrub off the slime on the tire easily as it "sands" the tire.
Of course if you have a really shiny bike this may be more work to clean the bike than you save, but for me it works out great.

Or...if you don't want the dirty bike you could take a 3m scuff pad to it.

Too much work, plus it's fun to make a huge cloud of dust

True...but if you live in town and have too much chrome and such and hate cleaning...plus the new 205 is a bit tougher to brake loose too.

Actually that is a good idea, I wasn't downing it just ribbing you.

The pic in my avatar was from me "removing" my mold release. Installed the new tire rode it six blocks and burned it off. I swear I took over half the life of that tire that night. That smokin shit is addictive. I did a hell of a burn out then the local leo showed up so I did another for him.
See you out there.
