I am in shock
Over on my honda board a guy showed off his Valk, and everyone noticed his car tire. Take a look at the responses so far. I didn't know this was spreading so fast.

Re: I am in shock
Well the nay sayers are running out of friends because, the more guys and girls try it the more acceptable it is! Very civil over there on the shadow site...it wouldn't have happened on the VTXOA board! About 3 years ago when Me, toasted, and Smokey, Poppawolf, and some others went to the darkside. You thought we had slept with our own kin! It was bad then, we even got threatened to be sued...... for even posting darkside data!

Re: I am in shock
It was that same way 1 or so year ago when I did it.
I started posting about what I wanted to do, with only Daniel Meyer's site as my reference, and people went nuts on me.
Then Daniel referred me to this site, so I chatted with more "ammunition" thanks to Twin. Then threads started getting locked and deleted.
At that time I started having people PM me and ask me to report back to them on my experience because they were considering it too.
Then David and Steve-O came along and it was nice to have a few black tired demons in the boat with me.

Hey, don't drag ME into this mess.....I dunno what you're talking about....;-)
Seriously, David PMd me over there. Didn't dare "post" something so controversial back then! Flamers would post their opinions at will. Finally, some of us came out of the closet and began to debunk the opinions. Videos were posted, nobody died, facts began to rule the day. Interesting how many have been converted.....

Re: I am in shock
LOL! I still remember the day the video was posted.
So many people were like "Hey ... it doesn't ride on the side of the tire or Rim!" But there were still the "Well I still wouldn't do it!" comments too.
It has been quite a transformation over there.

Closed minded people don't have to worry about new experience and change. I'm surprised that there are those kind of people who actually ride bikes, afterall, they're so dangerous.

Ignorance is bliss. I would have never thought that it would work so well either. Thanks to all that have the balls to go outside the norm and pass on information. Best thing I have done to date. Love the CT. Then again there is no such thing as a football bat and ice cream does not have hair.
Peace.

Even the densest rock eventually must admit that we're not crashing at any rate that's higher than the usual crash rate for motorcycles. They can say they don't LIKE it all they want, but the fact is, it isn't dangerous.

Shocked????
I posted on the other board when I went Darkside, got the usual response, I than told them about the old days back in the 50's and 60's when car tires where all we had, Hell my Dads 41HD had them front and rear, the smaller tires were only smaller versions of a car tire. Guess my riding experience of almost 50 years don't count, but then again some of the louder blowhard johney come latelys and know it alls don't realize us old timers have survived longer on 2 wheels then they have been alive, what's been killing alot of us off is the fact that alot of the old timers have fallen for the bullsh**t that they are too old.
And the total disrespect that cagers have for anyone, take a look around and you'll find the younger ones are getting them selves killed off faster then we are.
My rant on that subject.
Doug
PS I've been on that other board since 2004.

Re: I am in shock
D'Oh!
I remember when we were "rebels"! :pirat:
You know, I just rode from Dallas to Little Rock last Friday at 80 mph most of the way. Forgot how stable this tire is on the interstate. Just ran flawlessly. Now I'm in Little Rock where every road is an adventure and the tire is just as stable. I don't even think about it any more till this topic comes up.... And I only paid $61 for the tire....which will last me 20k+ miles.....
