hello to all. got a question on bead width. the grabber tire should go on 5 to 7'' rims. right? the 1300c is 3.5''. on the site it said to find a bead with of 4 to 5''. ok. does this mean to search thru grabber tires and find one with the narrowest bead width? thanks in advance.[i]

The grabber will go on.
That info is for people looking for differant tires, other than the grabber or tires we have listed

Obviously the narrower the bead the easier it is to seat. Generally the higher the series the narrower the bead. The tires I have measured have shown that a 65 series could be 5" across the bead while a 70 series is 4.5". Same model and mfg of tire.
The Grabbers that have seated the easiest are the 70 series.
Hope this helps a little.

#31 sameym [mo] (This Darksider doesn't give up)
After the guy tore up my Falken trying to get it off the spoke rim cause 150 lbs wouldn't seal it and Two Day Parts wouldn't reimburse me, I just put my Kuhmo back on and said hell with it for now. Well 6 or 8 mo. later I get a Grabber 205/70/15 , the guy puts it on my C rim and he says just as the bead starts to pop it pops over the rim, blows and splits all the way up to the tread. Shocked He said it only had about 45 lbs when it happened. I took it a couple places and asked around and every body says they've never seen anything like it. The wire in bead was even broke. So here I sit waiting for UPS to pick it up cause Treadepot said it wouldn't be a problem. I'm going to take the new one over to a friends and we'll give it a try cause I AIN'T GIVIN UP .
Oh yea, I don't think the Falken's the right tire for the spoke rim.

As far as I know the Falken has never seated on an S rim without sealing the rim..... But I might have missed something.

I got the Goodyear Triple tred 205/65R15 and it was a bear to seat. But, it sure is pretty. I almost got the 205/60R15, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have seated at all.
