Motorcycle Caddy

Hi,

I am in need of an advice about the Motorcycle Caddy. Has anyone on here used it on a VTX? Since the VTX has a shaft drive. Is it a bad idea to have the rear tire dragging in Neutral? I am trying to find an alternative to a trailer, since I dont have a room for a trailer in my garage.

I am curious as well. Backing up could prove to be a beach. I actually though about building one of my own. Did you post this on the other board?

I don't think for short hauls it'd be an issue other then a good possibility to drag your pipes. The main concern I'd have would be how to comtroll the swinging motion from the tripple trees. I use an 8 foot trailer with a chalk like that one and tie it down.

This is the only place I posted it. I did not take into consideration the backing up part. Normally when I am pulling a boat I avoid backing up at all cost.

I have never pulled a bike, so not sure. I saw this contraption online, and thought I would run it by you guys first.

Good piont. My reply to this would actually run straps to your handle bars or a canyon dancer strap to your safety chain points on your hitch. This would give you the stability and you would not have to worry about the handle bars turning as the bike would still pivot.

What about the drive shaft? is that an issue, since it is dragging the rear wheel on the road.

I dont think that would be actually an issue as long as your werent going cross country. How far were you thinking about dragging the bike?

Is 700 miles too much?

I would not think so. Depending on the roads. I would feel comfortable anyway. My thing is I would prolly forget to put it in neu. ha ha.

Just remember that the drive shaft will still be turning if ya do it like that. That will work but would be favorable with a belt or chain.
