Help from yall Yankee's Empty Help from yall Yankee's

Need some advice.
Yesterday we had a bit of snow on the ground. For South La I guess you could consider it a lot of snow. Anyway after Lunch the roads dried up enough to ride. The temp was 41* Sun was out, yaddya-yadda. I have been looking at the bike for two days and She was calling my name. I put on my Joe Rocket jacket with the liner, three shirts, boots and jeans with my flannel PJ's under the pants. Gloves and neck gator.

The ride was awesome but my legs got cold right away. I was wondering what yall do to keep from getting cold. I don’t want to buy chaps or anything real expensive as they would only get used 4 or 5 times a year as this is a rare problem for me.

Also I would like your advise on a tool to scrape my sack off the tank. Just got in from the shop and it is still frozen to the tank.

Other than that it was a great ride.
I hope that this finds all my brothers and sisters Happy and in good spirits.

Peace yall

I don't put that much on for 20 degrees. Laughing Laughing

Sorry about your sack by the way....
For that a $20 pair of ski bibs should be more than enough. They are made to go over boots and usually are wind proof.
The other extreme is buying a wing so the wind wont touch you.

don't think i qualify as a yankee, (north Mississippi) but IMO chaps are the best way to go. you can pick up some cheap ones if you are not going to wear them often. I wear mine anytime the temp gets below 55 degrees, it just makes the ride alot more enjoyable and alot less bulky than all the layers. But anything that will block the wind from whisling through your britches will do the job.

The work is going fairly well. Considering that this is the winter months and the sea state is so unpredictable. That is the reason I am home right now. The weather is supposed to go down for Monday. So it will be off again. Good thing is everything goes on schedual I should be home for Christmas.

Yall have a happy and Merry Christmas if I am unable to log in before.

any kind of leg coverings... preferable something that will stop the wind, I usually use uninsulated gortex pants over my uniform (free for me, kinda pricey for most). For about the same price as some carharts bibs (work good) would also be some cheap chaps, or snowmobile pants... all should or could be around $50 depending where you look. I think i got my chaps for about $50 from Hot Leathers...

let us know what you come up with...

I discovered today on the way home from work that just regular uninsulated leather gloves pretty much lose effectiveness under 25*... Suspect affraid

Bite the bullet...Go buy yourself some Gerbing's at least the jacket liner and gloves. Keep the body core warm the rest will follow.
