Inspection in Dallas, TX
So it was time for my inspection to get renewed. I didn't want to go the easy route to a jiffy lube place. I wanted to tangle. LOL So I went to a Honda Dealership. DFW Honda, in Grapevine, Texas to be specific. And I was ready.... The guy asked me a total zinger.... "Where'd you get that hinge on your gas cap? I've been looking for one since I got my VTX in 2002." He asked this question while he was peeling off my old inspection sticker and putting the new one on.
Friends, I was mad. Here I was ready go to hammer and tong, toe to to with someone who wouldn't pass my bike because of my car tire, and he's got his iPhone out looking up DirectLineParts on the internet to get a Coyote Hinge! LOL

You have a hinge on your gas cap.....You sure it wont fly open when you start moving and have the gas come out and ignite on your engine causing you to die a horrible firey death....

How would that be any different than any OTHER day? LOL
Yeah, he knew I had a car tire. Just didn't care. Another customer, myself and the tech all chatted about it, and other VTX stuff. Both VTX riders.

Hinge on the gas cap? If Honda thought it was safe to have a hinge on your gas cap then they would have put one on there . It's not natural thats all.

+1 on the coyote x-hinge. So what if I catch fire from it or the DS. I can go fast enough to put them out. Now if I were on a sportster that might be a problem.

That was probably it. Actually, it's the X-hinge keeping my gas cap on that keeps me from dying in a ball of fire every day... you guys need to get on that!
