Anyone live in Missouri
I ride a 99 Honda Shadow vt600, spoke rims.
I am thinking about going to the darkside, so any info of which tire would fit my bike would be great.
Now the next thing, does anyone live in Missouri that would be willing to help a brother out! lol
Thanks,
dan

Dan, first off what is the size of your stock tire? I think we had a uy on a 600 go darkside with the kumho powerstar 165-80-15. Your stock tube will fit it also. If you are wanting to seal your rims Wiggans50cal just did his on a vtx. He is in northern Mo.
Like Mrs Smokey said I am willing to help if I can.
See you out there

Re: Anyone live in Missouri
Well thanks alot, for the offer. Maybe in a week or so i will have to go to the darkside. I am just about due for a new rear tire.
I am thinking about running a tube for now, and maybe in the winter trying tubeless. Thanks Mr and Mrs. Smokey

Hey I am in Cape Girardeau, MO and run a VTX 1300. I have a slo leak in my stock Dunnie and I am thinking of using it as a good excuse to go Darkside. It'll probably be a month or two before I can afford it(even as cheap as CT ares!) Let's compare notes. Are you able to mount the c/tire yourself, or have someone else do it?

Yes you can mount a car tire yourself. many here have done it. You can pick up a kuhmo powerstar 165-80-15 for about 50 bucks. That is a hell of a lot cheaper than one trip to the ER cause your slow leak ruptured and you have a blowout. ... just saying.
See you out there

Re: Anyone live in Missouri
did someone say lunch????? heck there is a place in bevier missouri called the Pear Tree. Any of you can probably google this and read about it. The food there is CRAZY good, and a good steak will cost you $39.00, usually it ends up costing you about 50 bucks a plate, if you watch it but ohhhhh myyyyy goodness, you eat like a king... so ya ill help!!!! okay okay, lol Hardees is fine with me! If you need help sealing your rim just shoot me a PM bro, we can get ya hooked up. if your in the area, bring your wheel, sealant, and Ill give you a 45 degree valve stem. I already have the puddy knife made so just stop by and we will do it. If you want to do it yourself then i can ship you the tubeless stem and puddy knife. Let me know what i can do to help!!!!!!!! I live about 15 miles north of Macon, or about 25 miles south of Kirksville. If this doesnt help, im about 65 or so miles north of Columbia. stay cool

Re: Anyone live in Missouri
I sealed my rim, had a couple leaks for some reason and just said screw it and put a factory sized tube back in it, and popped my 205/70-15 right on!!! with 100LBS of pressure and lots of tire soap of course.... but it went. If I were you, I would not seal the rim just for the simple fact that with a 45 degree angle valve stem, it is sometimes hard to find a gas station with the right chuck to fit in over your hub and attatch to the stem for a shot of air, when mine was leaking last weekend, I was about 100 miles away from home and stopped at 7 different stations before I found one that had the right style of air chuck. I looked and looked and could not find a right angle TUBELESS valve stem. they straights are even worse to get to then the 45 degree ones. I ran it for 3 days and ended up popping the tire off again, scooping my dyna beads out, and putting them in a FACTORY sized inner tube with a CENTER RIGHT ANGLE VALVE STEM. Now, any guage or chuck I need to use fits right on. This problem alone is enough for me to say running a tube on a spoked wheel is just better. Unless you find a short right angle tubeless stem. Good luck and PM me if you need my help, come on up to the shop and we will get you all set up.89centHugo wrote:One more questions: i seen someone has already asked, but i didn't see an answer. Ray,
How to you like that Hydroedge? Also, do you have any problems with clearance under the fender going with the 205?
I just bought a 205/55 and will have it mounted next week, so I am just wondering.

Re: Anyone live in Missouri
By the way Ray, if you could help me out, there is lunch in it for ya!
btw...Ray, are you familiar with Fritz's Ice Cream, and down the road there was a Ice Cream place called Goody's? My uncle owned it for a very "short" time.
