Changing tires
Am considering coming to Darkside. Have several tires in mind. All are Dunlops 205/55/16.or the 205/60/16, and the 205/65R16. I have called around to various shops and even some independent shops. They will not mount the tire and try to talk me out of it. Question is .........how hard is it to put the ct on the rim? I have a 2002 1800r. Stock shocks. And what size dyna beeds would I use? I have changed tires before but never have put a ct on a motorcycle before. Thanks in advance. Have a good week what is left of it.

Mr Bill
First try to find a small independant HD or speed shop. Pull the wheel off the bike and walk in carrying the new tire and rim. If they want to get uppity just tell em its for a drag bike. Most see the stuff in your hands and see easy cash flow and jump on it.
Dyna beads ------ 3 ounces in a car tire 1 once in the front
I have a local shop that will do it so I have never had to hand mount one .... yet
See you out there

Re. Changing tires
Thanks Smokey. Just last night I was going through Craigslist and there is a guy that will come to you to change tires for $35.00 as long as the tire is off the bike. I will give him a call. I had planned on taking the rim and tire off my self any way. Again thanks. Ride safe

Mr. Bill,
1800's are one of the easiest tires to mount on a motorcycle rim! Shouldn't have a problem at all. Let us know how it comes out?
I wouldn't go with the 55 series unless you are looking for more leg room to the ground. JMO!

Re: Changing tires
I had the same problem, though they did dismount the old tire for me, so see if they will do that. It at least makes it easier in that way. Mounting the tire on a motorcycle rim is really no different than a car rim. So if you've done that, same principal applies.
Re. Changing tires
Thanks guys. All the help is appreciated. Will go with the 205/60/16 sport signature.
