New to the DARKSIDE!
Hey Everyone, I am ready to make the jump to the DARKSIDE. I have found a tire that I really like the look of and I am wondering if anyone has used these or if there would be a problem with them. Please let me know what ya think. I ride an 05 1300R with solid slot wheels.

Re: New to the DARKSIDE!
Patch,
It's a Yokohama tire and looks good. I don't think any of the 1300's have run that tire yet??? I checked it's made for a 5.5 to 7.5" rim. It might not seat the bead at the width??? It would be a gamble to see if you are willing to take the risk!
That's the only draw back to the darkside with a stock 1300 rim unless you go with the "footsmod" where you put a 1800 rim on back of your 1300 and then the world is your oyster. Almost any tire will fit the 1800 rim.
Welcome to the sight and glad to have you sir. Make yourself at home and ask all the questions you want.

Re: New to the DARKSIDE!
I think Twin was referring to the width of the tire at the bead where it seats to the rim.

Thanx!
I just wanted to thank everyone that replied. I agree that 8" will probably too wide, so I will keep looking. VW tires are way too hard to come by. I would also like to ask about the fender on the "R" model. Does it interfere with the 205/.... tires heigth wise? I would also like opinions on rounded verses flat surface tires. Thanx again.

Re: New to the DARKSIDE!
Heres one of the Douglas 205/65/15 on my 1300R...
Have to let you know ... on mine I had to remove the exhaust and drop the exhaust bracket (took out one bolt and losened the other) to get the tire back on, otherwise the break rotor wouldn't clear.
