Hi All,
I'm new to forms and to the ideah of the darkside. My Name is Tim.
I own a 1999 vulcan kawasaki 800 classic. I'm planning a trip to California (I live in New Jersey).
Part of the planning is New tires that will last the over 6000m trip.
Can anyone tell me what tire to buy and where to buy it?
What tire they have on their bike that worked?
Where I can find more information?
Thanks in advance I'm excited about this idea!

Hi
I was wondering if the Rating on your VW tire was a T ? And does it has a 1 ply sidewall also ? I am newbie and was going to buy that tire but the" Car guy sales man" advised me not to trust the T speed rating ?? Now I'm wondering ?? I have a 86 Voyager .

Oh man thats a tough one about the T speed rating, I go 120+ all the time on city streets and faster than that on the freeway. OK I don't ride like that at all, the T speed rating is 118mph and that is at max. weight on the tire. You won't put anywhere near that much weight on the tire. I would not hesitate to take a T rated tire up to over 130 for a short time(like a drag strip). So unless you travel at very high speeds(over 130 mph) that tire should be all right.

This is the load index for tires, a tire with a 91 load index can hold 1356 LBS with the maximum air pressure in the tire. Put less air(than max.) in the tire and the weight the tire can safely hold goes down.

71- 761---- 91- 1356
72- 783----92 -1389
73- 805----93- 1433
74- 827----94 -1477
75- 853----95 -1521
76- 882----96 -1565
77- 908----97 -1609
78- 937----98 -1653
79- 963----99 -1709
80- 992----100 -1764
