2002 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Classic darkside?
Hi folks. I am Extremely new to the darkside. I have been doing lots of reading, and have even found some information on putting a tire on a Kaw Vulcan 1500, but not a 2002. I was wondering because I just got my bike a few months ago, and I know by summertime I'm gonna need a new back tire. From all I gather, I am going to need a 195/60/16 tire. I hear that a lot of the guys like the Dunlap 5000. Does anyone know if I would need to do anything special to put this on, or anything? Any information you can give me would really help. As far as I can tell it seems like I am going to try to have to peace meal getting this thing put on because of all the ignorance out there regarding darkside. It seems like nobody wants to put them on, and if they will, they want a silly amount of cash to do so. Any help or advice yall could give me would be GREATLY appreciated.. Thanks
Josh

Welcome to the Board!
Sorry I have no specific tips for an 02 Vulcan,
but try the smaller independent tire shops to get your CT mounted.
Many of them will do it for $10-$20 cash with no questions...

Welcome to the darkside. Don't have my old Nomad or Classic any more, but I've a Concours with the same size rear/rear drive and everything that is exactly the same as the 1500 Classic. The tire you picked will fit just fine, I'm running a Vredestien Comtrac tire. The size is 175 75 R 16 on my Concours and find it's a great tire for both high and low speed driving.
I've ridden it from my home in Iowa over the interstates and the back roads and it does great on both. It also does great on the Dragon and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
I change tires myself, and it was easier on the Vredestien than changing some of the bike tires. It took a bit more air pressure to seat it on the rim, but the Vredestien is a light van tire with very stiff sidewalls.
