GYTT on an N

Post  Bull117 on Fri Sep 04, 2009 5:01 pm

I'm putting a GYTT 205/60-16 on an N Tues...from what I gather, no mods necessary to the fender or swing arm, but wanted to confirm while I have the rear wheel dropped.

Correct, from what I've seen posted, no mods required.

Bull, we just put that tire on an '05 N and it fit by a whisker. Had to deflate to install, but it fits and there's no rub.

Well...got her mounted, uh, I mean the GYTT tire mounted tonight. Looks great...the big test ride tomorrow. I put 40 psi in for starters. Also changed the shock bushing while at it. I also ordered a patch,

Waiting to hear what you think Bull....be sure to give it about 300 miles to completely break in and you get used to it. Congrats.

Just got back for a quick 10 miler...been lots of rain here and work. No doubt different...but I'm a quick study and after a bit of feel...without a sense of overconfidence...have no doubt I will enjoy this new tire. I had it on a steep lateral slope which definitely gave a good tug. But as others mentioned...anticipation and practice. Running with 40 psi...about 2.5oz of dyno (I spilled the rest trying it get it in the itty bitty hole).

Thanks all for your advice and counsel...most appreciated to read and learn. And thanks Horse for the patch.
