Altimax
Greetings!
Some of you may know me from the VTXOA forum. I'm going darkside Thursday (if all goes well) so I figured I'd jump in here and avail myself of the vast collective knowledge gathered herein.
And now that I'm done sucking up, questions!
The tire I'm putting on is an Altimax 205/60/16. I know I might need to do some grinding on the brackets on the inside of the fender but is there anything else I should be looking for? I read a couple of the other threads BUT I didn't want to miss anything specific to this tire. The tire will be going on a stock 1800c rim. I ask because I was looking in Hick's shop and found this which makes me think I need to do something with my stock brakes. Am I wrong? Please tell me I'm wrong.
Thanks for the help!

Re: Altimax
nope, nick the "ears" on the inner fender brace it you want, sometimes the tires hit, sometimes they don't. But it's easier to do when the tire is still off (paint the exposed metal)... your brakes are fine... Hick deals with putting 1800 brakes on 1300's... you shouldn't have to worry about that!

Re: Altimax
You shouldn't need any grinding with that tire, but if you want to be sure and can't tell, the shocks come off easy enough so you can raise installed tire up inside fender to verify sidewall clearance. Just remember the shocks will bottom out before the top of the tire hits anything. Re: Altimax
I am running the same tire on an 1800R and have had no rubbing issues and I did not do any grinding. the tire holds the road well even in some extreme down pours of rain and about 1 mile of hail. I was pissed about the hail and hope I never get caught in it again, luckily I did not get any dents. If you end up liking the Darkside in general I think you will be pleased with this tire.

Why aren't the pictures working?
because you are trying to host them out of your OA profile... they need to be on a website like Photobucket typically...
