Glad to have you on here. We have been friends for years with VW's and he finally got the riding bug...and bad too! After a couple of years riding, now he's a fellow darksider too. He PM'd me and wanted to be added to the 1800 list, so it's official now.

He currently runs a Toyo Proxes 4 195/65/16 on an 1800R model.

Bartlett IL.....that's just west of the ORD airport.

I've done many DARKSIDE conversions for people. I've found that with the correct (for your bike)
rear suspension setup and a wider front tire that the "snap and roll" feeling is nonexistent.
I don't think I'll ever go back to a MC tire.
BTW I have a tire machine.

Joined the Darkside last year but decided to do a complete bike remodel before I ever put it on the road so I have to look at this nice,big, fat, gorgeous, meaty chunk o' rubber sittin' in my garage just longin' to be abused! Can't wait to Git R Done!

I"m sorry twin1300 for the lack of response. I'm normally on the "other" sight just out of habit. I really like this and the way everything works here.

I've updated my profile and gave a general location (Bartlett, IL.....west of Chicago)

I'd be more than happy to help out anywhere I can.
I try and run a VTX shop out of my house/garage. I'll do tires oil changes (Amsoil) Fork rebuilds, clutches etc. I do what I can for my fellow VTX'ers

I'll promise to try and get back here more often

Mark, post all that info in the vendor area too. Plus put a bit of that info in your bio section or what ever its called like down where mine says 'sex not often enough'.

I have had the CT on my bike for about 10k now, so far I am very pleased with it.I have riden in rain, when there was a lot of sand left on the roads from winter conditions, down dirt roads, down the turnpike, lots of 2 lane black-tops, early morning to late at night. I have not experienced a situation where I thought there was any increased risk created by using a CT!! I am really enjoying the fact that my rear tire has almost 10k on it and looks like there is a lot more riding to do before I even need to consider replacing it. So far, in my opinion, this has been one of the best modifications to my bike yet!
My bike is a daily commuter, to and from work. I ride as often as I can or so long as there is not any wet stuff when I leave.

I too commute daily, I don't let the rain stop me from riding unless it is cold too. 40's and rain suck. I typically ride unless there is snow/ ice on the road or predicted or if it is going to be a cold rain. Other than that I ride. The coldest I have rode so far was 22F but it was clear roads and a long overdue ride

I'm now a member of the "Darkside"!!! Read through the forums today and went home and snatched my tire off and put a Michelin Hydro Edge 205/65-16 on 'er!!! Havent rode much to get a feel for it, but I'll let ya know what I think after a week or so ridin on it. Add me to the list!!!!
