Re: 1800 Darkside List............

Post  ragabash on Sun Mar 29, 2009 2:45 pm

I have 300 miles on my new Michelin Hydroedge. I used a 205/65/16 on my 2003 R with 3 oz. of Dynabeads. I have had some questions from my Co-members of the PA VTX riders group. Only one was really negative so far. At our monthly "give a hoot meetings" there has been a little discussion. I haven't ridden it to a meeting yet (Weather in PA.) I'm sure there will me more questions when I do; since I'm the only one from the West that has one so far.
I want to thank everyone here for their expert advice, and their ability to make changes in the face of naysayers. I listened to Bobby explain his testing with a durometer. I was familiar with that device since my son also raced Karts for several years.
As far as the handling, it's exactly like you folks described, a little more steering input, better braking and more positive turns. So far, I'm happy. I just don't understand how people that never tried it can be so negative, it just doesn't make sense.
Thanks to everyone.

Post  Ghenghisron on Mon Apr 13, 2009 6:50 am

Add me to the list please. 2003 1800C 205/65/16 HydroEdge. Finally got to put down around 300 miles on it. Just back and forth to work, nice familiar road. I must say, the more I get used to it, the more I like it. Can't wait for the weather to clear up some, now that I have developed some confidence in it.
Thanks to all for the advice !!

RayJay here,,,, from Iowa..... Bridgestone Potenza G019 205/65/16 I got the tire put on in Michigan then rode it 600 miles home mostly Interstate. For the most part,,What Car Tire?

I took it out tonight and ran it through the 5 curves around here and it handled just fine. Can't hardly wait to try it on some real twisties, but then of course, I CAN'T WAIT REGARDLESS OF WHAT TIRE I RUN..

Congrats on your darkside! Welcome and you are on the list! The more you ride the darkside the more things you will find that it does exceptional over the motorcycle tire!
