Darksider since Wednesday
I took the plunge on my VTX 1300C this week, bought my GYTT 205/70/15 for 99 bucks off of discounttire.com and got it installed for 60 bucks. $160 total cost for me to get it done here in Baton Rouge, LA. Loving every minute of it so far.
The shop that installed it, GN Gonzales, put about 45lbs of air in it to start, drove it home and had no issues and no wobble (It was hard to keep the speedometer under 80) at high speeds. I got home just fine, took her on a 120 mile drive the next morning with 36lbs of air in the tires and still didn't notice much of a difference in the handling, and at 85mph I didn't even realize it.
I must admit, there are a few changes in handling but overall there are way more pros than cons to this setup. I definitely can do slow speed manuevers alot easier, riding in a straight line is a breeze (not that it was before, just much easier now), and braking is definitely better.
I'm going to play around with my air pressure a little bit, but first I want to thank all of you for your help and comments. Thanks again!

Welcome to the darkside. Guess you didn't crash and burn. Twin probably only lives 20 mn. or so away from you, so you go go get your cookie. No sense waiting for an empty box to show up in the mail. Enjoy your ride.

GYTT is sweet. Just curious. Did you happen to ask the guys at Discount if they'd mount it for you? Hubby got his at Discount here in Texarkana and they mounted it for him for free. 110.00 out the door and that included road hazard.

Thanks again!!!
I think I was wrong in my post above, I got my tire from Discount Tire Direct (http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/home.do) for $99. I'm not too good at wrenching so I opted to just bring the bike in and get it done from scratch, rather than trying to beat my head against the wall trying to do it myself.
TWIN, I saw that you were from DS. I would love to meet up and talk!
And thanks again for this forum and everyone who's commented!

Bobby,
Im sure that his issues and your issues are completely different. I am sure that you can help with the DS issues as you helped me. But I am not sure that he will be able to help you with your issues. Professional help is pretty much a requirement.
Welcome to the club. I gotta tell you to look out for Horse and Larry. These guys are trouble makers.
Lets all get togather soon for a LA Darksiders Meet and Greet. We all can ride the tail of the gator.
Peace
Moon.
