Trimming inner brace (Need Advise)
Ok, I'm helping one of the guy's I ride with convert over to the Darkside this Saturday. He's running a 1800R and we're installing a Triple Tread in 206/60/16 on it. My question is how much of the inner Fender rails did you cut of to keep the tire from rubbing. His bike is stock, but he rides 2up and pulls a trailer.
Yes I did trim my inner rail ( Really gutted it) but I did this prior to ever thinking about going to the Darkside. (For hitch clearance,) I just hate to cut more than need off some one elses bike.
Thanks Mike.

I am running a 205 55 16 on mine. I ride 2 up about 380 lbs plus loaded saddle bags and trunk at least another 100 lbs and have never had any rub issues. I did not trim anything at all.
Good luck

Re: Trimming inner brace (Need Advise)
the last few inches of the little lip that sticks out horizontally can be whacked off, or take the whole thing off just to be safe...
OR take the rear fender off, install the tire and the inner fender brace without the shocks and drop the inner brace over the tire to see exactly where you could get contact. That would be the safest way.

Everyone, thanks for the replies. we mounted the triple tread on Saturday and didn't have to trim anything, another one has joined the Darkside.
