I'm new to this forum, been reading and pondering Darkside for some time and since the M/C tires are worn to the point of replacement.... Wink
The new tires are ordered!!
Looking forward to the next phase of my riding!

For the front will be a Pirelli Angel GT 160/60-18, rear will be Toyo Proxes R1R 205/55-16.
I'm expecting to modify/replace the front fender, and it needs some repair anyway.
Was hoping to find a Toyo rear in the 60 ratio but tire shops up here don't have much access to performance tires in that size, and I didn't wanna spend over $300 on ebay Shocked .

Got my Toyo R1R today $180CAD, tire shop was kind enough to mount it for a box of donuts. They had never mounted a tire on a MC rim but discovered their old mounting machine works perfect! Going for the first ride right now! Woo hoo!!

The set-up for this ride went as follows: I stayed with 41 psi in the front (max psi on the slightly cupped Dunlop Elite 3 and about 50% tread left) and put 38 in the rear to start. I rode around the neighborhood getting used to the feel and headed to the highway, running it up slowly to speed while swerving slightly in my lane to try and induce a wobble. Continued this in 5 - 10 mph sets up to 110 and never had any wobble or shake, slowed down with heavy braking and felt very secure the whole time. Returned back home through an overpass and leaned it over to drag a peg around the clover-leaf at 50mph, the rear held true with blips of throttle and brake while in the turn. Twisted Evil

Obviously (and unfortunately) not all applications will have this nice of introduction to the DarkSide, but after 300+ miles on the weekend - I have no reason to think about going back Cool

Soon to come: Double Dark... thumbup
