howdy all heres what I did first I put the bt 45 on the front and rode it with the e3 rear no difference in handling a small amount of vibration from tire at low speeds cause the bt 45 has more groves and is a courser tire than the e3 front. then I went to a goodyear assurance fuel max on the rear took 60 lbs to seat.started with 41 lbs upped to 45 lbs rode about a 100 miles today tire is great . smooth in the corners I have to push it down a bit more.reminds me of my 650 Suzuki .had to push it down to get it to lay down in the corners to.max I went to was 85 mph which is faster than I normaly ride anyway.but no problems.so its all good happy to be here

I am new to the darkside and just ordered the BT45 for the front. Thought I read the rear tire on the front needs to be installed opposite the rotation marked on the tire. Is that right?
I also have the Assurance Fuel max on the rear.

I hope you got a good Austone tire. I know of three or four that were not round or had the (bad) wobble the faster you went. I have not read any bad reports about the Dunlop 175R16, It cost more but like I said no reports of a bad one.

Went "Double Dark" on my 06 ST in April. BT-45 up front @ 41psi, Hankook evo on the rear @ 37psi. Only a little over 2K on them so far and I'm loving it. Leaving Friday for 2 weeks and about 3k trip. Going to be nice not worrying about tire wear in the middle of a trip...

first impressions of double darkside Empty austone tires

If I am riding alone at speeds above 63mph, I can get a nasty wobble from my Austone tire. It is less visible if I take the windshield off, or if I ride double (with the wife on board).....in fact, if the wife is along, it is a great tire with no complaints at all. I guess the extra weight makes the tire more stable.

I just rolled over 5,000 miles on this tire & tread life looks great (it's on a '03 Victory Classic Cruiser)
