So I have an 02 ACE 750 that I've done terrible things to. After riding an mc tire to the point of failure I decided to go Dark Side and order a car tire, probably a 165/80/15.
Any thoughts, tips or suggestions.

Take it easy for the first 75 miles or so til the new wears off.
Play with your pressures about 2psi at a time til you find what you like.
Start about 38psi.

And most importantly Welcome to the Darkside and enjoy the ride! Vader

Today I pulled the trigger on a Nexen SB802, 165/80r15. It'll arrive in a little over a week. My scoot has spoked wheels, but ran tubeless with the last tire. So as I gather it, I'll want to pull the old tire, lube the bead, heat up the tire to help it seat and then pump the F¥©K out of the tire to get it to seat. Since I'm doing it myself, do I need to worry about balancing it?

That's the same tire I put on my '96 Ace vt1100c2 with spoke wheels. It was in the summer when i did mine. the tire was hot from the sun. I cleaned up the wheel good by sanding with a scotch brite pad and put car polish on it to make it slick. Then i lubed it with hand cleaner 'goop' and aired it up gradually keeping the bead even. I had to keep repositioning the tire to get the bead to start on even. It took about 60 psi to get it to bead up. I haven't had any problems so far and oh yeah, I took the wheel and tire to the bike shop and had them to balance it before I put it back on the bike. I have put tires on and never did balance them and it worked out ok.

I suppose this would be a good time to throw out a "before" darkside. '02 ACE 750. Yanked the front fender, installed 2 inch fork extensions, removed the upper fork covers, chopped the rear fender, upgraded the drive sprocket, shaped and shaved the saddle, installed a model t tail light, and did some paint work.

So Project Darkside hit a couple snags.
1) It's 19 degrees out, which makes wrenching suck.
2) It turns out that I have a punctured inner tube too.
3) Its Sunday, so the local bike shops are closed.

I have the rear wheel in the house, so I'll try to at least get the old tire off.
