Shock bushings again
I couldnt find the other post on the bushings.
But I will make it short and sweet.
Charlie D has over 40,000 miles on his, and I have probley 30 to 35,000 on mine.
Alot of guys on here said, they wont work, and Charlie got some negitive feed back on them, so it was pretty much droped.
I have to tell you guys, they do work.
Here is a picture of them, they are made out of Alum.

Re: Shock bushings again
Any chance you could make some for us. I would think you could get at least $40 for them, I live across the river from you in WA.

Re: Shock bushings again
Sorry I havent been around, I was on the Coast working on my rental
Anyway, Im not the one that makes them, It is Charlie D. and he only made couple of sets.
Most of what he got on this site was negative feed back on what to use and the material.

Re: Shock bushings again
Wow, I would think anyone willing to put a car tire on a motorcycle would jump at the chance to try something new. Oh well their loss. Good job I approve.

Re: Shock bushings again
I do lube them once a year.
My shock spring settings are on 1 and with any other bushings, I had to run them on 2 or 3. Im at 190 lbs. and we just got back from putting 2500 mile on mtn. roads and had about a extra 100 lbs of camping equipment and everything else, and never did move them off the #1 setting.
Well some times I lube them every 2 years, its something that works so good, you just forget about them

There was so many nasayers and neg, people he just baged the idea.
I dont blame him, I would just have said screw you guys.
They were just a prototype, and we tried them, and they are good.
I didnt like the idea of ordering more bushing every 10 to 15k and haveing to mess with it.
Hell, I would have paid $100 for a set that works and I dont have to screw with.
Dont tell Charlie D that.
We are the only two that have them.
No, they dont work.

Re: Shock bushings again
I just pulled the bushings and cleaned them and put them back in. I do this once a year or year and a half. Sometimes I forget. I96 wish I could remember how many miles I had on the bike when I put them in. I just clean with some brake clean and a rag and greese and stick them back. I lost the service records when my computer crashed.
I am at 96 plus K on the bike now
I put the in back in 09 sometime, I think. Well over 4 years.
