Sharing Balancing Knowledge

Welcoming any other knowledge on these points, but here is EVERYTHING I know about balancing tires on scoots, running Darkside, and having issues:

1.) Dyna beads work. Unless you have a lateral imbalance, from my experience with the wobbly Austone I wore out.

2.) RideOn works. Particularly that it is probably slower to move around than dynabeads, and it HELPS, not cures, lateral imbalance - IF that is why some Austones wobble at speed. But it's main purpose is fixing flats on the run.

3.) The bead line is there for a purpose; if it doesn't run true, your tire is NOT SEATED.

4.) Static balance has worked for years with bike tires, and many CT's - but is no precursor of your experiences at speed .

5.) Computer balance can be a Godsend, or a total joke. If the wheel isn't spun at TRUE SPEED, I say don't believe that the machine will "compensate" for a hand speed spin.

6.) Balance machines cannot balance your tire with beads or RideOn inside- Why? Obvious to me, those two do not work by centrifical force, but rather by centriPEDAL forces...which do not happen on a rigid machine with no shocks or road input.

7.) Savings from a CT purchase might be well spent on balance. Have you ever wondered why one guy gets 35k on a tire and another with the same tire, 8k? (assuming he doesn't ride like me)

At THIS point of my experience and study, it appears TO ME, that the best wheel balance would be achieved by first having a computer balance, then de-beading the tire and installing either RideOn or Beads to fully complete the balance and accomodate tire wear, that doesn't happen with a few chunks of lead on the rim. These are my opinions from my limited knowledge associated with fairly thorough reading and experience with 3 CT's, aggressive riding style and milages.

Been having a little go-round with Dunlop lately, and found on their website that they will not warrant their tires if any balancing media is used (beads, rideon, etc....) I'm not saying we shouldn't use any of these product, but just passing on some info like you asked. I haven't looked at any of the other brands, but I'm sure they probably say the same. They really do have their warranty worded in such a way that they could NOT warrant a tire for just about anything. The best phrase they use is "...under normal conditions..." What the heck is normal?? Obviously, they probably won't warrant a ct on a motorcycle (that's not "normal" according to the people I know), but it's something to think about for the front tires anyway.

Well, in THAT case, since there are nearly 10,000 of us, then a CT with dynabeads or RideOn will be "Normal" in effect!!!  
It brings to mind how all the tape measure manufacturors changed the policies to exclude pretty much everything that normally happens
to our tapes. Might as well buy the cheap ones nowadays, but I do like having at least a 10' standout.

Counteract glass beads, as far as I'm concerned there's nothing better.

I posted elsewwhere on it, but I put 4 oz. of plastic airsoft pellets per tire in my truck,and they don't do like dynabeads, IMO - I get vibration over 70, so need to take a day off
and go get them balanced with lead; I'm not springing for dynabeads for the truck; just too much cost.
