Altimax Belt Breaks??
I got the Altimax for my V Star installed on the rim today by a local shop, and he said they just replaced an Altimax on a V Star because the belt in the tire was broke after one year, and he said it is supposedly common for that tire. I have never heard that before. Is there any truth to that??

Nope. I rode one of these a long time with no issues.
But I did install a Kumho on a royal star one time that would wobble. Never could figure it out. Might have been a separated belt in the tire.

I'm wondering if the mechanic was thinking of a different brand? I have not heard one bad thing about the Altimax, even after several google searches.

Had that happened with a Douglas tire. This is the first I have heard of with an Altimax.

I've been a mechanic for 15 years. It can happen on ANY tire. Never heard of it being a "common" issue on General tires. I would however, recommend staying away from Big-O tires. They suck!!
