Dynabeads conflict with tire plug?

Post  Bentspoke99 on Fri Dec 07, 2012 9:23 pm

I've looked but have not found an answer to this matter. If I have the dynabeads in my tire and should have to plug the tire for some reason, will the sticky goo attract the dynabeads to the point of causing the tire to become unbalanced?

Hadn't really thought about it or experienced it but it does sound reasonable that it could have a negative effect as described hmmm Shrug

I've plugged two tires with no problem. The first was a rubber plug that I put over 10,000 miles on and the second was the sticky rope and neither affected the balance of the tire. I had 3 oz of beads in the tires.

My guess? The yet loose beads then consider the plug to be offbalance and by centripedal motion settle across from it,
thereby rebalancing the tire - UNLESS the plug plus stuck beads weighs more than 3 oz.

From Innovative Balancing website (Dynabeads) In the FAQ section...

Question: What if I have a flat?

Answer: Normally, nothing. We have had many motorcycle users install Dyna Beads after plugging a tire using either a rope-type plug or a standard plug, and we have never had a single complaint.
