84 v65 Magna CT??
I'm wondering if anyone knows the CT equal to a 140/90/16 Motorcycle tire? Has anyone put a CT on a 84 Honda V65 Magna?

That would be a fun bike to put a ct on!
You'll probably have to go to a 145/90-16. Here's one:
http://www.amazon.com/GOODYEAR-818208253-CONV-SPARE-90D16/dp/B006X1QIV0/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1354663256&sr=1-1&keywords=145%2F90-16
Have not tried it, but don't see why it wouldn't work.

Re: 84 v65 Magna CT??
Wow!! $300 for one tire is a bit much. Thanks though,I've been trying to find a CT to fit. I was hoping a 175 or 185 might fit. Hard to find a 16in.

There's probably cheaper tires. Just found that one close to the size you need. But remember that it'll last you 30k miles. So factor that in. I put a nice tire on my statoliner just because I'd be riding it a lot and didn't want to change tires every 8k.
You can go wider, but it will affect how it rides. The closer you get to the size you have, the more it rides like a "motorcycle".
Post a pic of that V65. Always wanted one. Almost bought one. If I knew a good mechanic I would have pulled the trigger. Great bike!

That's what I'm trying to figure out.....what is the closest to stock MT (140/90/16). I will post a pic soon as I can. They are fun bikes for sure.

ct widths
I've been looking at tire widths....I think I have something wrong. My mt is a 140/90/16. So the 140 is the width? I'm confused on how to find a ct to fit. a 150 ct is the same as a 150 mt??

Re: 84 v65 Magna CT??
140 is the width, whether it be a CT or MT. 90 is the ratio of height to width. So the bigger the 2d number the taller the tire. So you have to pay attention to width clearance, and top clearance as well.
I have noticed that the 2d number is not always accurate. Kind of a relative number. not all 215/65's are the same height between mfg and tires. Off by a little, which could make a difference, so be careful there.
You can go wider. 150 would not be bad depending on what type of riding you do. Wider tires are better highway tires in my book. Narrow tires are better if you ride the twisties aggressively. Once you get the size parameters you can live with, go to discount tires or tirerack.com and see what is available. Also check ebay. I've gotten some good deals there. Just pay attention to the mfg date. You don't want to buy an old tire unless you put 10k miles a year on tires. Tires are supposed to be changed before they are 6 years old (MT or CT).

Re: 84 v65 Magna CT??
Steve-o, thanks for clearing that up a bit for me. On my bike (2001 kawa voyager)I'm running ct 165/80/15,the mt was 150/90/15. So if I get the measurements of ct and space on bike I could probably go a bit bigger than 140? Maybe 165?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: 84 v65 Magna CT??
165 would work if it would fit. You'll need to reduce the 90 to an 80 or so to reduce the height of the tire. I think Kumho makes a 165 that size for cheap. Easy to check it out. My first CT was a kumho.
again, it's a little wider than the normal MT, so you will notice a difference. But on that hot rod, it might work out nicely on the straight aways. Put some balancing beads inside to balance it.
