tire size 02 1800r

Hello to all I have a an 02 1800r I have done all kinds of upgrades and as of right now I need a new back tire again and I dont want to spend 240 bucks on a mettzler again so here is my question, what size do I get ? Any help will be appreciated . I have 35000 miles on my VTX and have had a few tires put onbut dont want to pay those rediculas prices anymore. Some help please . PS please dont mind the Spelling

205 60 16 will get it done. Others have used a 55, 60, or 65 series.
Trim the inner fender struts while the tires off.
and moly-paste the final drive splines every 10k

I have an '05 R. Just put on a GYTT 205/60R16 and it fit fine. No trimming required, no rubbing.

Thanks to all for the info I am still alittle on the fence but the money and mileage factor I think will win out and I really want to ride the VTX

A little over a month ago I took the leap for many of the same reasons you mention, and am loving it more each day. It took a little getting used to the different feel of the ride but it is well worth it. So you know, I have an '03R with 11-1/2" Progressive shocks. I was a little concerned with the clearance due to it sitting a bit lower, but not any more. I have tested it with over 500lbs on board and no rubbing at all... I don't know if I needed to or not, but for a bit of insurance, while I had it down, I dented the driveshaft tube slightly with the blunt end of a forming stake and I have much more clearance than i did with the 200 Metzler--probably 1/4" or more. After having the dealer mount the tire with Dyna Beads, I easily installed a GYTT 205 60r-16. However, the next time I replace the tire, I am probably going to install a 70 series tire to correct the spedo readings. Good luck staying in the dark...!

thanks once again to all but unfortunately life happened again and I need a motor for my blazer so as it stands on the lift is how it will be for a few more weeks or so . The one thing I can tell you is that a bought a motorcycle jack from harbor frieght tools and absolutly love it . I paid 79 bucks on sale and its worth every penny. Once again thank you all
