Shock Bushings
Over 20k ago, Charlie D Made some shock bushings out of alum., and posted on here, most of what he got was a bunch of BS from Nay-sayers, kinda like we get from running a ct on the rear of the bikes.
These are mine after more than 20k on them, and Charlies is about the same. Very little sighn of wear. They work very well well, less flex in the rear and you can run your shocks on a softer setting.
NOW, I would like to hear what you Nay-sayers have to say about it now, and dont make me dig up the old thread and say who you are. Because I will.
These bushing work very well, Im going to clean them up, regrease and reinstall them for another 20k and then pull the and repeat.
There was some negativity on the other thread, I want to here from you Nay-sayers now.
Ok, so one pic. didnt turn out.

Re: Shock Bushings
It will never work, you will crash and burn in a ball of wet noodles Why wouldn't it. All they are is a wear item and as long as the aluminum is softer than the bolt and the shock housing it's all good.
Thanks for coming here to gloat
See you out there

Re: Shock Bushings
They do work.
My oem bushings were lasting 8k and the Garys bushing lasted about 15 to 16k and they were junk, and not cheap.
The master bushings, I dont know, I didnt keep track.
I would pay 50 to $100 for something that I didnt have to worry about or dick with and replace every 10 to 20k.
Still waiting for the Nay-sayers to respond.
I know you been looking.

Re: Shock Bushings
No price was even mentioned in the tread.
They were just a prototype, that was going to be tried.

Re: Shock Bushings
I went back and reread that thread from a year ago...
The only negativity posted I saw was somebody calling the McMaster Carr bushings "crap".
Glad you are happy with these spacers.

Re: Shock Bushings
You didn't have to quote a price. I'm a mechanical design engineer and know that a machined aluminum part would cost more than the dollar the McMaster parts cost me. But I will agree with Doc. I'm glad your happy with them.

About the same as a tire, or 20,000 miles.

Re: Shock Bushings
Yes I am happy with them.
To bad now one else had a open mind.
I tossed the Master bushing.
These work alot better, less flex and lower setting on the shocks for a smother ride.
As Smoky says gloat, gloat, gloat

Re: Shock Bushings
Im still running the very same alum. bushings, and running on number 1 setting.
I did put some 1800 shocks on last year, and greesed the bushings.
I have ridden in 4 months, due to a broke and dislocated shoulder.
Love these thing.

Re: Shock Bushings
I also haven't had any problems and maybe 40-50 thousand miles on them.
I did make another matched set for myself and gave the old ones I was running to Wayne so he could run them top and bottom, that was last year sometime.
