Is it safe to fit a car tyre to the rear of a Kawa 1600 Vulcan? Has anyone experienced or heard of any problems doing this?

Cheers Larry, I sort of assumed it wouldn`t be a problem. I`m just sick and tired of being ripped off by tyre retailers Razz

Mine is a goodyear tripple tread 205-60-16 it just has credit card clearence on the driveshaft tube but has never rubbed.Other tire brands of the same size have rubbed so you need to go to tire rack .com and check specs on whatever tire you are considering. My tire beaded at less than 50 psi. I had to deflate and push past axle at an angle to install. thumbup thumbup

I forgot to ask what size did you fit as I can`t get a 170x70x16 in a car tyre in oz

The 195 series was closest to origional bike tyre that I could get over here but I couldn't find a tread pattern that I liked so opted for the wider tyre and never regreted it but that is just personal choice. The narrower tyres will handle closer to origional equiptment . thumbup thumbup
