Yokohama arives tomorrow... Thursday I will be installing, I almost can't wait. I did a year looking into this and have not found anything to change my mind. I will also be changing the front tire and have heard a lot about double darkside. Just haven't heard of any doing the rear tire on the front of an "T" or "R" (same bikes) Mine is the 1800T and from what I see there isn't much room under there for more tire.

If I were to do the rear tire on the front which one fits without mods?

With the fact that the T's and R's have such a big tire to begain with, will there be anything to gain with the change?

When I change out my front Metz, I'm looking at getting an Avon AM26 150-70 17 rear tire. Original is a 150-80 17

Thanks for the reply, I didn't get a reply for so long I went ahead and ordered a regular front tire this time but you can bet I will be saving this tire info for my next tire change.

I have had two Roadrider tires on my Honda(front) and both went bad after less than 5k miles. They both showed cord between the center tread even though the rest of the tire looked brand new. It was like the rubber that covered the cord was very thin and just was not tough enough to keep the cord covered to keep the Sun and weather from deteriorating the cords.
I went with a Bridgestone Battlax BT45V Sport Touring Rear Tire up front and I'm very happy with it.

Thats the first Ive heard any bad review of that tire. I will consider it when I make my purchase. I too have heard a lot of good reviews of the Battlax.
Thanks for the input!

Look into it but I don't think that tire was made to hold the weight of the 'X', these bikes are near 800-lbs and have few MT that can take the weight. One of the reasons the boss first came with a CT on back, and the main reason I went to the CT on my 'X'. Having the T model I haven't found a rear tire for the front yet, but I haven't had a lot of time to look either.
